World Xiangqi League

The World Xiangqi League (WXL) was created in 1997 by a team of developers led by Paul English. The WXL became the largest Asian game community of its time, with over 100,000 unique registered users, and servers in USA, Singapore, Beijing, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia.

Xiangqi (Chinese chess) is the oldest game of chess in the world, and is played by most men throughout Asia. You will often find old men playing xiangqi today in Chinese parks around the world.
