Politeness Code
There are two goals with this website - (1) teach people xiangqi and help them improve their skills each week, and, (2) use xiangqi as a way to make new friends around the world. As part of the latter, we aim to be a community of players who are always friendly and polite to each other.
Impolite players can be muted or banned by any of the many admins on the site, and impolite players will start to be ignored by other players on the site.
What do we mean by being polite?
Thank people for the game, even if you lose.
Do not harass or yell at other people.
Do not use vulgarities.
Do not use hateful, offensive, violent, racist, sexual, indecent, threatening, abusive, insulting, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, tortious, obscene, seditious, political, profane, ethnically or otherwise objectionable language or images
Do not give tips to a player in chat, unless you know both players and they allow this.
At the end of each game, we are going to ask each player to rate the other player as being polite or not, and then in the player profile pages, we will show what percent of the time they have been marked as polite. So please make sure your politeness rating stays high, else nobody will want to play with you.
