Private Chat Release: We've launched private messaging, allowing players to connect and chat directly in-app. Enjoy secure, real-time communication with your opponents or friends!
Guests Removed from Rated Games: To enhance fairness and competition, guests can no longer participate in rated games. Only registered players are now eligible to join rated matches.
Improved Loading Times: We've optimized loading speeds across the platform, making it faster to get into games and navigate the site.
Piece Click Optimization on Mobile: Enhanced responsiveness when tapping pieces in our mobile app for a smoother and more intuitive gameplay experience.

Users can now choose to add social links to their public member page, by editing their profile and adding in their username for different social platforms.
The site has now been translated into Traditional Chinese, along with major improvements to the existing Simplified Chinese translations.
Disconnection timer has been removed from timed games. Now, when your opponent (or you) disconnects from a game, the game will not end until the game/move timer has completely expired.
Users accessing a private game as spectators will not be able to follow you to the rematch unless explicitly invited (by manually sharing link with them etc.)

We updated the game page design such that the game controls (draw, resign etc.) are more readily available available to use and easily visible. The side bar has also been updated to show moves/users and chat tabs at the same time.
Users can now change the language to Vietnamese in addition to Chinese and English from the language toggle located at the top right of the website.

Xiangqi.com now supports multiple chess engines, with the introduction of Fairy-Stockfish (playable on Chrome for desktop), on multiple difficulty levels.
When a piece captures another piece, the capturing piece is now shown with a purple and yellow border. This helps you better notice when your opponent has captured one of your pieces. (The captured pieces are shown above and below the board, with the current captured piece with a yellow circle.)
